Have You Super-glued Yourself To The Outcome?

bebadassalready2-3Super glue is some powerful shit…just get some on your skin and see how hard it is to unstick what you glued yourself to. Here’s the question: are you stuck (literally body, mind, and spirit attached ) to the outcome of your projects and plans? If so, it might look like you being uber rigid with yourself and how you execute your goals and dreams. You leave little space, if any, for error, changes, shifts, life’s flow, and simply the right to change your mind. And, the thing is, all of these little shifts and tweaks are perfectly normal and acceptable. It’s only your own thoughts that say they are not.

Being attached to the outcome sets you up for those pissy-pout fests that you say you don’t like having. I know I don’t like them. But, let’s get real here: you have them because you somehow think that you’ve failed yourself and others miserably by missing your own nearly impossible marks. Let me guess, you didn’t sell enough products or books; you didn’t land that big client; you didn’t stay on your diet as planned. I know, I’ve done it, too.

Polly Perfect Pants (my previous reigning persona) used to put me in those horrible mind fucking battles all the time. She ruled the kingdom and never let real creativity or authenticity come out. She was afraid of not being perfect and allowing others to experience her imperfections, as if they were taboo or unacceptable. She had to keep the proverbial ducks all quacking in harmony as they stood in a perfect row.

The only way to detach from the outcome of things is to give yourself a fucking break. You aren’t perfect, but that’s what makes you perfectly incredible! Your self-proclaimed failures are your opportunities to get stronger and to become the finest version of yourself. Without them, we would not be unique or have kick ass stories from which to teach and help others. Let go of what you think you have to be, what you think you have to accomplish. Just be you and ride the messy wave of life!

What are you willing to “unstick” yourself from this week?

"I make no excuses for my diverse roles as a Rock Your Feminine Type Coach™ and Branding Expert, best-selling author, and crime thriller novelist. Yes, I do still chuckle a bit at the irony. I kick ass as a business transformer for badass women by day and kill off vulnerable fiction characters at night. What the hell, it makes for some interesting dreams. I believe that everyone should pursue their passions no matter how out there they seem to be. One of those pure heart-fluttering passions for me has always been writing. Since I did, indeed, chase my dream of being a writer, I've published two non-fiction books in the self-development genre and have another on its way, co-authored an international best seller, and have finally pushed my much-too-old-to-be-in-the-nest novel out the door and into the world. My whole world is empowering and I adore showing others how to live life unfiltered, whether I do that through the written word or my coaching work. I love my job!" ~Kellie “Ignite Your Ass” Rae

You speak my language girlfriend! When I un-super-glued myself from just about every freaking outcome (because lord knows controlling outcomes is not my specialty!) possibilities that I never dreamed of suddenly presented themselves. Now that I’m free from my own mind fuck, I experience more holy wow rests than I ever did before!

  2. Pissy pout fests hilarious my man loves to take the mickey when I do this. Thanks for showing me that its ok when things don’t go our way and that sometimes they can actually work out for the best in the end.
