“Personal transformation can and does have global effects. As we go, so goes the world, for the world is us. The revolution that will save the world is ultimately a personal one.”
~Marianne Williamson
Not long ago, I was in the depths of despair concerning my life and business direction. I was lost in my own perfectionism and a cloudy soup called blending in and washing out. When I look back over my definitive moments of clarity, I see that my true badass was always trying to come out, but, nevertheless, I shoved her back down into the soup. Why? Fear. Complacency. Misinformation. Perhaps one or all of these. Who knows why we do this to ourselves, really. I do know this: I couldn’t have walked to, through, and past my transformation without help along the way. My “village” helped me understand and love myself deeply, even the shadow parts that aren’t all that pretty. I no longer need to lie to myself or anyone else about how well I’m doing or who I really am.
If you truly want to get to a new place in your life or are ready to completely transform, you need mentors, teachers, experts, friends, family, and outside source energy to do it. Yes, we all have the power to intend change and to even take action on it, but that’s not enough. Getting outside help ensures that you don’t miss the crucial elements of transformation. It likens to why all authors need editors: when you look at something, study it, live with it for so long, you become blind to errors and areas that would be stronger with just a little tweaking. We create our life story, and it can get stuck in the “author’s” rut without outside eyes on it.
Trusting others to come into our lives to help isn’t always easy. In fact, that may be one of the most common excuses why most don’t ever hire coaches, therapists, tutors, etc. Many also fear being found out. Yes, they don’t want others to see how bad things really are in their lives or businesses. They don’t want to admit that they’re broke, unhappy, confused, lonely, angry, or anything that isn’t considered “normal” and “pleasant”. I used to be so afraid to admit anything was going wrong in my life because it meant I wasn’t perfect or that, somehow, I wasn’t qualified to be a life coach. Bullshit!!!!! It’s those trials and tribulations that create the awesomesauce that relates to and helps others! And that’s why the transformational stories of others help us all to see clearly.
One of the most powerful things about personal transformation is that it can deeply affect the lives of others around you. Your strength and motivation to get closer to your grandest self inspires others to do the same. That ripple effect can live and carry on for generations and over much distance. So don’t ever think that what you do for yourself can’t or won’t create positive change for others. But, you have to take those steps and allow others to speak into your life and offer assistance where you need it.
I want to thank all of my mentors, teachers, coaches, friends, family, and the universe for helping me transform into the woman I am today. And, I want nothing more than to affect positive change on the world by continually becoming the grandest version of me! I’m also taking this opportunity to thank everyone who helped me pull off The Emancipation of Kellie Rae Get Rebellious launch party! And a special thanks to my Sponsors and Vendors who gave so generously to make the party a success!

i heart you Kellie! It does take a village but not just any village. It takes a village of brave badass women to stand with each other and lift each other up rather than tear each other apart in a feeding frenzy. I think that’s why there is SO much fear for us to step into and embrace our greatness ’cause, you know, there’s a group of mean girls just waiting to tear us down.
Fuck the mean girls. And Fuck the person who chewed me out for swearing in a post.
And you’re right about finding the right teachers, mentors, and coaches. I tap into them when I need to…and need to make it a quarterly habit.
You are so fucking right, Peggy! I love you! Locking arms with you, my friend and badass colleague! We will show those mean girls that you don’t have to hate, compete, and destroy others to be successful! xo Kellie Rae
